Dating and marriage.

Hi, guys. Sorry it's been so long.
I've finished all the quests and so I though maybe I'd start a little mini series on life in Sim town.

This instalment will be one building friendships to the point of relationships and eventually marriage.

I always use to have best friends become romantically involved, then I got bored of the extra time it required and then I started beginning the dating process from the Good Friend stage. While it doesn't affect how fast the relationship builds, it does, it seems affect how effective the proposal is. I use to never have any issues getting my Sims engaged with the 3 LP ring. Now it requires the higher ones. With the 10 LP ring you're basically gaureteed a 'yes'.

So I highly recommend that you take the extra time to build the best friend relationship first.

Teenagers can build romantic relationships too. However, they take a long time and once they age up they are in a good friend status relationship, but you can rebuild to the best friend stays and then the varrious levels of romantic. You can earn some serious XP bonuses by spending the extra time though.

Well, happy Simming and good luck!

Pirate Quest (part 3)

Once your meeting is through, a Sim needs to object for 30 minutes.
Then a Pirate will appear. And a teenage Sim need to go introduce themselves, to help make this newcomer feel welcome.
It says choose wisely, but as I only have one teenager and I don't really care... Besides, I don't think that teens can get married like adults can.
This introduction business takes 8 hours. Then a teen needs to give a speech for 6 hours.

Saturday, 4 October 2014

Pirate Quest (part 2)

Now a meeting needs to be held for 12.6 hours. Five Sims need to attend and one adult to host.

Pirate Quest

I'm running down my stock pile of LPs but I'm going to finish this quest!
You get all kinds of new and great pirate gear if you finish this quest in time.
You need to send 5 Sims to the community Center, send a teen there, have a teen play the keyboard that is there (in the front lawn on the left) for 8 minutes. That's as far as I've gotten.

Seniors Quest (Conclusion)

So I really don't know where I left off. Sorry guys!
But you're going to need to make a pumpkin pie for 10 hours, then scatter seeds at two locations in town for 7.5 hours each, then search a tree for about 8-10 hours and then sit on a park bench for about 36 hours.
I used a TON of LPs but the prize of a cage less bird with a senior Sim named Dumbledore was just too good to pass up.
Next up: a bottle of rum and really bad eggs yo ho! A pirates life for me!

The Birds!

Okay, so now that you have survived the seniors quest (epic fail to me for not walking you through it) you need a senior to complete this quest and with the new update I really have no idea how long you actually get (in terms of days) to complete this quest. I do know that it is SHORT.
I added a new person to town and then used a birthday cake to age them up. Once you have a baby I highly recommend that you bake three or four cakes (at once) so that you can age them up for the varrious quests and keep a few on hand for an occasion such as this: ageing up an adult.
So first you need a senior.
Now have them go and talk to a tree for 8.5 hours. Next they'll need to read a bird magazine for 24 hours, then read an encyclopaedia for about 3 hours. Next have an adult Sim grow pumpkins.
That will bring you up to about 25%.
I wasted a few hours and unless it's all downhill from here (which i doubt) I don't know if I'll finish this quest in time without using some major LPs.

Adulthood (part 2)

Once you ridicule the trophies for a day, you need to confess to another Sim for 1 hour, 10 minutes. Then you need to go to the park and pick up trash for 16 hours.

Adulthood Quest

So I have really fallen off the wagon with this whole blog.
I'm trying to get it back together.

So, because of the update, I really have no idea how long you have to complete this quest. But I really want the times prize. Expanded wardrobe and hair styles.

Unfortunately I'm not sure that this 'to do' list is complete or in the right order, but here goes:
Call a Sim to the park
Rearge chess board, 5 hours
Call second Sim to the park
Complain to Sim
Mock Sim, 1.5 hours
Finish chess game, 5 hours
Grill 'em all on a grill, 8 hours
Listen to boom box on pier, 5 hours
Stare blankey into fountain at park, 1 day
Go to swim center
Use water slide, 6 seconds
Get energy drink from swim Center vending machine, 30 minutes
Ridicule trophy case at swim Center, 1 day

I'm pretty sure that's everything, for now.

Restaurant Challenge (part 3)

Have a toddler make a mud pie in a garden patch for three hours.

Restaurant Challenge (part 2)

Be ye Warned.

The last judge is the Grouch and it takes 8 hours to take his order. And he will order Quiche, which takes 4 hours, $200 and you much reach level 4 of the cooking hobby.
Any Sim can complete any portion if this challenge.
So make sure that your cooking Sim is working towards level four and someone else is taking Grouch's order.
Next you need to inspect an X for 5 minutes.

Latest and Greatest

Not. Happy.

I am not in the least bit happy with the newst update.
All the inspiration tasks (refrigerator, sink, coffee machine etc.) now take FOREVER and all the times don't even make any sense. Washing hands at a 3 star sink use to take 5 seconds, now it takes 12 seconds, why an increase of 7 and not 5 to keep it easy??
You can't even eat out of a microwave or toaster now. They are for the cooking hobby only.
The refrigerator has only two options now turbo snack and meal. I loved the Graze option. Plus a turbo snack use to take 10 seconds, now it takes 23 seconds. Again, why an increase of 13 seconds and not 10??

Why did they need to increase the time in the first place, muchless by such goofy numbers and taking away so many options when it comes to making sure my sims are well fed??

Share your thoughts in the comments below.

Just please be concise and considerate.

Resturant Challenge

Hell's Kitchen.

You need to build the Resturant, which takes 2.5 DAYS. Then you need to talk to The Grouch. And do various short tasks. Then you need to get in touch with three different judges via the phone. It's a 3 minute conversation. Then they show up, you take their order for 5 minutes and then prepare the requested dish. Except for The Grouch (which is where I am now ) it takes 8 hours to take his order.

NOTE: you need at least one Sim who does the Cooking Hobby. All the dishes must be Cooked, not baked, and you will minimalistically need a stove and a microwave.

Unicorn Quest (part 2)

I'm sorry that there are going to be blanks and skips in this walk through. Mostly that is because there are so many 5 minute tasks.
The major mile stones are read Pooping Unicorns for 12 hours, make Rocky Road for 12 hours and wait behind a tree by the lake for 24 hours.
I'm 76% done and have two days left.

Saturday, 30 August 2014

Unicorn Quest

You get 6 days to complete this challenge and if you succeed you will be rewarded with a rocking unicorn for toddlers.
First you need to go to the stables, then do two or three five minute tasks then inspect the inicorn's horn for 5 hours. Then talk to it for 5 hours (it may be a bit longer) then talk to a fellow Sim about the unicorn for 5 minutes and then inspect a tree by the lake then go home (or just use a Sim that already is home) and call a friend for 3 minutes. Now return to the stables and laugh off the unicorn with a fellow Sim for 5 minutes now you need to go to a computer and look up unicorns online for 12 hours.

Need for Stead (conclusion)

Call the mysterious phone number back for 5 hours.
You now need to build one of the stalls which takes 8 hours and cost $30,000.
Then add a horse and show it affection (I forget exactly which one you need) for 30 minutes and there you go.
If I left anything out please just let me know.

Next up: Unicorns!

Thursday, 28 August 2014

Need for Stead (part 5)

Once you have cleared the yard (your best bet is to get all your Sims involved because the longest task will take you 10 hours) you need to watch more horses on TV (3 hours) practice brushing another Sim for 15 minutes then encourage then for 30 minutes.

Wednesday, 27 August 2014

Need for Stead (part 4)

Once you build the Stables (which I cut short by 7 hours using LPs) you need to start fixing it up.
First have one Sim go to the stable (by calling them) and have them remove a boulder in the front paddock for 3 hours (I waited to 1 hour, 58 minutes then used 1 LP). Now have 4 Sims help clean up the paddock.
I went ahead and called as many Sims as there were clouds. Each task takes varrious amounts of time ranging from 30 seconds to 10 hours.

Monday, 25 August 2014

Need for Stead (part 3)

Next you need to call the owner of the stables back (4 minutes) and search online for a locksmith (2 hours). Now it's time to build the Stables! Which will take 65 hours and set you back $300,000.

Sunday, 24 August 2014

Need for Stead (part 2)

Once you spy horses you need to go and call the owner for 30 minutes then read about horses for 9 hours.

Long Hair Fashion Quest

You need to continue designing outfits to complete each level of the quest.

Note: to reset the collection you need to go on through the hobby's collection screen and at the very bottom will be the option to restart it. Just like any of the other hobbies. The only difference is that you have to go BACK in AFTER you've completed it, because it won't restart until it has rewarded you and told you to advance. Also, I was able to complete this in 3 days by having 10 Sims do it all in one location and doing the 10 minute option up to 6 times an hour. And I made sure they were doing it for 6 hours at night. The 12 hour option might look tempting but you lose time because it take twice as long and even if you're gone for 9 hours you'll have to wait three hours to continue or you can just have them not doing something for three hours, but be able to pick righ back up again when you get back.

I also have all the amenities at hand to keep them Inspired.

A nice little sweat shop going on.

Need for Stead

This quest is timed you get one week and will be awarded a unicorn painting.
First, you need to go for a drive then spy horses through a telescope (which takes 10 hours).

Bread Winner

You will then need to prepare some Chinese toast. Buy a toaster (already owning one doesn't count here) prepare the toast, which takes 5 minutes, grab a plate, make some burgers, invite 4 sims over, call to meal, rest eyes on a couch and viola! You can now prepare foods and earn rewards with the new Bread Winner hobby.
Next up: Need for Stead.

Saturday, 23 August 2014

Bread Winner Quest

Next you'll need to buy a stove, if you haven't got one, then make bacon and eggs which take 5 minutes and cost $27. Then eat them (by selecting the plate) which takes 10 minutes. Then clean it up (13 seconds). Next you need to search a book case for recipes for 6 hours on a three star bookcase.

NOTE: this is a hobby, which means that either you need to Cook with a Sim that hasn't started a hobby or you don't mind them forgetting their current hobby.

Bread Winner

First you need to watch a Chef on TV for three hours.

This quest is untimed and has no bonus reward at the end.

Road to Fame Quest

Woohoo!!! I have finished the road to fame quest!!!!

Now on to the Bread Winner Quest

Thursday, 21 August 2014

Long Hair Quest

Now you need to create all four outfits.
I have 5 sims designing and I may very well add at least two more to the fashion hobby.
There is no way to skip tasks unless you use LPs once the task is started.

Long Hair Quest

I am doing the new long hair quest.
You get 6 days 16 hours.
First, be nice to a sim, watch TV for long haired sims, e-mail long haired sims, buy a fashion table, design fashion, create a complete outfit.
If at all possible you need to get as many sims as possible doing the fashion design hobby so that you stand a chance of completing the challenge in time.

Back on the Road (to Fame) Again!!

Woohoo!! That's what the catch was: I was missing the Electric Guitire.
The 10LPs one takes 2 hours to write a song on. So, now I just have to be patient.
I'll keep you posted as I earn my notes.

Thanks for hanging in there with me through this delima guys.

Happy Simming!!

Road to Fame Quest

I may have only just now figured out why I've been so stuck.
There are two different guitars!!! And even though the Bass guitire will award you both sets of music notes the only way to advance to the microphone level is to write music on the Electric Guiitire!!

So, I shall see what buying the electric guitire will yield.

Keep checking back for updates

Teen Idol Quest

I cannot stress highly enough that you use LPs to finish the Teen Idol quest before it times out. I cannot move forwards and there are three pieces of music on the same level that are all rare. So, until I am able to write/find the rare music notes I am going to be plateaued here at the 'Write 12 Peices of Music' for quite some time.
I wish that I could do the new Cooking and Resturant quests that they have come out with.

Hobbies

Hobbies can be a very beneficial pass time for you Sims.
The most rewarding hobbies are the Skating and Swimming hobbies.
Please note: I am still stuck at the teen idol quest level, meaning, I know nothing about the personality quests and hobbies.
Anyway, these two hobbies seem to be the best because you can have four Sims doing the same thing at the same time.  Unlike the Fishing hobby where only one Sim can do it at a time.
Once you have completed all the reward levels in the Wood Working hobby you gain acess to being able to buy wood working benches from the Promotions 'R' Us store and practice in the comfort of your own home. Which means that you can greatly increase the number of Sims practicing the same hobby at the same time, giving it a slight edge over the others. Another one is the Fashion Design hobby because all you have to do is buy the fashion studio and you can start working towards becoming a fashion god. And you can have as many Sims as you want each working at their own station.
I have mastered the Swimming, Wood Working,  and Skating Honbies so far.
The first one I completed first was the Swimming hobby and I know earn three LPs every-other day, on average.
You can advance faster the longer you spend at you chosen hobby, but you have more chances of earning more rewards and XP if you do each one for 10 minutes or 1 hour.
Hobbies will decrease various things in your Sims Inspiration Metre (as I call it) but most of the hobby locations have things like bathrooms and coffee machines. The most draining is the skating, but it offers everything. A 2 star refrigerator, 3 start coffee and tea makers, 3 star seating, unfortunately the toilet takes 30 seconds because it's public.

I have been working on the Fishing hobby since the beginning and I still need three more fish (none of which are Rare, itoinically).

Do you have a favourite hobby? Share below in the comments.

Still Stuck

I promised myself that I wasn't going to become on of THOSE bloggers. You know, the ones that get so far and then just stop telling you what to expect.
I'm still stuck on that stupid teens quest. I also just got to level 41. What am I doing wrong?? I still need to write 12 pieces of music, but just keep rewriting ones I've already written. Lucky Spins may (but probably won't) yield a new piece and I don't want to waste my LPs.

As a side note the single story Mansion is, so far, The Only house that comes with a car. I now have a two story mansion. Very disappointed it did not come with a car. However, it is worth it for all the toddler and preteen accessories you get. Like a 24LP train set for toddlers.
You get a nursery, toddler and preteen rooms along with a wrap around pool, three bathrooms, a huge kitchen, office, living room and storage room. Some of the appliances are two-star (like the fridge) but most are three star (like the bathrooms).

If you have anything to add about the houses or the teen quest feel free to weigh in.

My only request is that you state your opinion in clear, plain English, use spell-check, and please be curtious :)

Happy Simming.

Time Turners UPDATED

Everything stands as before when adjusting the time and sending your Sims to work, the only thing that has changed is that you can now send all of your Sims to work, no matter what time the job starts/whether it is a day or night job.
You still can't speed up the timers though.

Road to Fame/Celebrity Teen Quest (Part 2.5)

This Teen Idol Quest is taking me a lot longer than I expected.

I've been on the Write 12 Songs part for about 2 or 3 weeks now.
I'd use LPs to skip ahead, but I'm trying to save them up for babies and aging toddlers up.

Did everyone see all the new horse updates?

Cannot wait to finish this quest to be able to have horses!!

Happy Simming :)

Road to Fame/Celebrity Teen Quest (Part 2)

Once you have a piano/keyboard, guitar and a drumset you then just need to complete the different collections of music notes for each level (as with any other hobby your adult or pre-teen Sims may have).

I am 56% through the 5th level currently.

And no, I did not complete the task in time to earn the prize of the premium drumset.

Tuesday, 15 April 2014

Time Turners

This little trick is very useful for sending all of your Sims to work, even if their jobs start at different times. The only thing is that everything is on a timer and so you can't make them end their job any sooner by changing the time.

(please note that these are for the iPod touch 5th gen, but should generally work no matter the device)
First, go into Settings and change the time to when the job takes place (right on time, one hour before and up to two hours after the job time listed in Sims) then open Sims and send your Sim(s) to work, repeat as necessary to send all your Sims to work. MAKE SURE TO COMPLETELY CLOSE OUT SIMS FREEPLAY before readjusting the time for the next Sim's job start time.

Please Note: that you can either send all of your day-job Sims to work or all your night-job Sims to work, but not both at the same time. If I have Athlete Sims at work then I cannot send my Firefighter Sims to work until the Athletes get home.

Road to Fame/ Celebrity Teen Quest

You get 6 days and 23 hours to complete this Quest, if you succeed you will receive the premium Teen Drum set.

First, you need to buy the magazines (no, already owning them does not count) then you need to have a TEEN read a celebrity magazine.

I have already hit a snag here as I only have two toddlers, so I am having two adult Sims bake two Birthday Cakes simultaneously so that by tomorrow at this time I will have a teen. However, I know that lost time is really going to hurt. Plus, I work a lot coming up, which means that I'm going to lose time there as well... So, chances are I will not be getting the drum set...

Higher Education (Conclusion)

Lastly, you need to announce the grand opening of the High School for 13 hours.

Monday, 14 April 2014

Higher Education (Part 2)

Next you need to sit on a park bench inconspicuously for 2 minutes, reach level 2 at the Town Hall, call the Mayor for 3 minutes then make Caramel Slice, which takes 10 hours.

Saturday, 12 April 2014

Higher Education

Now that you've got teenagers, they need to go to school.
This quest is untimed nor does it have any special rewards, other than the ability to build the high school and be able to earn money by sending your teens there.

First, you need to watch the news, then Call Mom and bake some muffins, have a Sim start a NEW career at the Town Hall and lastley spend 24 hours bribing ducks with caviar. That's as far as I've gotten.

Saturday, 5 April 2014

Teenagers (Part 4)

I really am back guys, I've just been really busy and although I've has time to Sim I haven't had time to sit down and update everyone.

Next you'll need to grow some potatoes, sit on a park bench inconspicuously (go to park, select bench of choice and you will see the option) for two minutes and finally bake a birthday cake (which takes 5 LPs and 24 hours).

I'm baking that cake so I will get back to you on the next quest as soon as I can.

Tuesday, 25 March 2014

Teenagers (Part 3)

After you bake the pudding you will need to spend 12 hours talking to a tree.

I have now completed construction on all the big buildings, I'm going to build a house, which will take 12 hours along with the tree and I will be back on track with the challenges and thanks for being understanding about my Haidas.

Tuesday, 18 March 2014

Teenagers Quest (Part 2)

Now you need to watch a movie marathon and bake chocolate pudding.

Saturday, 15 March 2014

So You Know

I promised myself I wouldn't do this.

The farther into the game you get the more expensive and time consuming building up your town gets.

So, I'm going to plateau here on this quest until I can get my town a little bigger.
I'm to level 21 which means that the new update has taken affect and everything is different.

As I complete the Teenagers Quest I will still update you, I just won't be going through it terribly fast, most likely one task every one to two days at the most. Promotions R Us is almost done and the other buildings take two days at most to complete.

Happy Simming!

Teenagers Quest

This quest is untimed!

First, you need to be nice to the alien, bake him some doughnuts, give the alien the doughnuts and read The Big Book of Everything (16 hours).

Multi-Storey Renovations (Conclusion)

Once you're done talking to the Home Store you will then need to go talk to the Bunny out front of the Community Centre then get another Psychoanalysis, finally, you need to have three Sims dance to the radio.

Ta Da!

Wednesday, 12 March 2014

Multi-storey Renovations (Part 3)

Now you will need to call the Home Store Hotline for 14.5 hours, bake some banana bread (it doesn't matter if it burns), you will need to then find all the wood working objects in the first level of the hobby; not too hard if you have three Sims doing it all at once. Next, two Sims need to have a 12 hour conversation about crafts and lastly another call to the Home Store for 14 hours.
My internet went out for 13 hours so I've been making up lost time with LPs.

The best way to earn LPs is to have as many Sims as possible driving around town. The more three star cars the better.

Tuesday, 11 March 2014

Multi-Storey Renovations Quest

Once you get your psychoanalysis you will then need to spend 4.5 hours Swapping Ideas with the Bunny.

Monday, 10 March 2014

Multi-Storey Renovations Quest (Part 1)

You will get 5 days and 23 hours.

First, you need to build the Community Center (in the upper left corner of the map) which will set you back $200,000 and 44 hours, send a Sim there once it is complete, talk to the bunny for 5 minutes, go upstairs by 'clicking' on the arrows option to the right of the screen (it will 'flash') then do some woodworking for 9 hours. My Sim made a Wooden Doll that it had to catch. And finally go back and talk to the bunny out front for 16.5 hours.

An Alien Concept: Weather Machines (Conclusion)

Have two Sims WooHoo (they have to be married or partners), be rude to the alien and then celebrate by listening to Electronica Music on a stereo. (I may have forgotten something and the order may be a little off)

Yay!

THE END

Wednesday, 5 March 2014

An Alien Concept: Weather Machines (Part 5)

Once you battle the plant you will need to read 'Fine Literature' (12 hours on a 3 star Bookcase).

Alien Concept: Weather Machines (Part 4)

After you bake the Croissants you will then need to grow any mutant plant (I'm doing lettuce because they take the least amount of time).

Tuesday, 4 March 2014

An Alien Concept: Weather Machines (part 3)

After you finish Warning Sim Town you will need to browse the Internet (3 minutes on a 3 star Computer), be nice to the alien, become best friends with the alien, spend $16,000 on electronics. Lastly, you need to bake some croissants, which will take 18 hours.
You should now be to 40%.

An Alien Concept: Weather Machines Quest (part 2)

After spending the day star gazing at space ships you need to go home then zip back to the park to meet an alien. Be nice to it, then spend 12 hours on the soap box in the park warning that the End is Nigh.

To be continued...

Monday, 3 March 2014

An Alien Concept: Weather Machines Quest

You will get 6 days and 23 hours to complete this quest.
I'm sure this quest is going to be like the Swimming Pool quest.

First, you need to Search for UFOs in the Park (there will be a telescope in the middle of the park) this will take a whole day.

Preparing for Preteens Quest (Conclusion)

After you're rude to the statue you will need to Play Sims on a PC.

That's it!

Sunday, 2 March 2014

Possible Confusion

Hey all, I accidentally changed my web address. It's back how it was before and I'm very sorry if you couldn't find me for a couple days.

Plus, I've been ill with the flu and couldn't get back on here the last three days.

Hopefully everything is back up to speed and I can not only get back to  Simming but also updating everyone on what comes next.

Preparing for Preteens Quest (Part 2)

You will need to make two batches of snacks, buy a trampoline, a preteen desk and a preteen bed, then go talk to the statue in the park for a day, and then be rude to the statue in the park for another 24 hours.

Thursday, 27 February 2014

Preparing for Preteens Quest (Part 2)

Once you build the School you will need to buy a Preteen Desk and a Preteen Bookshelf then read 'Harriet Putter and the Greenkeepers Crystal'* for 3.5 hours.

*I found the title especially amusing since I've only just gotten on the Harry Potter band wagon (better late than never!).

Wednesday, 26 February 2014

Preteen Quest (Part 1)

Good news! In fact, some of the best news ever!

This is an untimed quest!! Which means that you can take all year if you like and it doesn't better.
What could be better than this, you ask? That the Elementary School only take $2,500 and 12 hours to build! That what!

It's All Going Swimmingly Quest (Conclusion!)

Finally! The End!

After talking to the Bunny for a whole day you celebrate by using the Water Slide for another 3.5 hours.

THE END

Tuesday, 25 February 2014

It's All Going Swimmingly Quest (Part 4)

And the Saga continues...

Because of the error I finally just broke down and spent my last three LPs on the Slide task.

Next is easy, get two Sims in the pool and splash one another (once both are in the pool, select one and the option 'splash' should appear), then they need to chat in the pool (4 min) and go talk to the rabbit out front of the Swim Center for 10 minutes.
Lastly, they will need to spend 1 day talking to the rabbit.

This should bring you to 90%

As an aside, based on the way that this challenge has gone I'm going to guess that the Preteen Challenge that is coming up is going to be even harder.

I'm concluding that you will need to build the Elementary School and I'm thinking that is going to set you back some $200,000 or $250,000, so start saving now.

I was up to $90,000 this morning, then built a Beach House Mansion and moved a family in (which set me back some $58,000)

Know Before you Build

A few things I've learned along the way...

If possible, build the mansions for your Sims, they come pre-furnished with three star appliances, furniture and a three star CAR! And an extra large lot to add onto!

These houses do cost extra, but they only cost Simoleons, not LPs (and it would cost a lot to get everything the house already comes with)

Also, after you build the Car Yard, get the red Sedan, your Weekly Challenge will require it and that way you already have it.

Make sure that all your Sims are gardening, baking or at work at all times, the farther into the game you get the more expensive everything is and the last you want to do is get caught without enough money and have a timed Quest on your hands!
Things like Peppers bring in the most money, they're free and if you have 10 Sims growing them all at one time you can make $80 every minute. That's $400 every 5 minutes! Or $1,000 every 12.5 minutes!

If you have babies, have them sleep all the time. When they wake up you will get some 200+ XP without raising a finger and they're out of the way. Just make sure all their needs are met in the in-between time.

Pets are great at finding money, the higher the rating the more they'll find. I've gotten LPs from 1 star dogs and cats before though, so don't put it past them. And Rabbits cost money, not LPs, making them a good choice if you're trying to save up.

Make sure to check the Shopping Cart often for deals to get free LPs (your best bet are the videos since they're guaranteed free and they don't require any personal data). In the Upper Left Hand Corner is a blue diamond, that's where you access the free offers.

The more your town is worth the more LPs you can earn from it.
Also, leveling up is another great way to earn LPs.

If you have any suggestions please comment below, I'm sure we all would like to know.

Variant Terms in the Game

Benchtop = Countertop

Car Park = Parking Lot

Car Yard = Car Dealership/a place to buy cars

It's [not] All Going Swimmingly (Part 3)

I am not going to be able to finish this Quest within the time limit.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR LPs on this Quest!!

You will now need to sit in the Lifeguard's chair (I forget how long - I think 12 hours),
get all the medals in the level one Swimming Hobby (easy if you have 4 Sims all diving at the same time), then you need to stare at the water slide for some 16.5 hours, next, you need to Run Fake Errands for 22.5 hours!
After all that you will need to pet a stray cat (it will have an exclamation point on it) for 3 hours and then spend 16 hours giving it directions.
This should get you to the 68% mark.
Now, you need to spend 3.5 hours using the water slide.

I keep receiving an error as I'm trying to use the water slide: 'One or more of your Sims were unable to continue their actions when the weather changed'.

I have gone from 31 to 2 LPs on this Challenge. I was hoping that maybe some of the tasks would be long and the rest short, this does not appear to be the case. Every task is long and you should just resign yourself to the fact that you will not finish this task within the time limit, if you did not have the money to build the Swim Center right off the bat.

It's all Going Swimmingly Quest (Part 2)

If you don't already have $150,000 to spend building the Swim Center then you are much more than likely to not meet the time limit on this goal.
I had to spend almost 2 days raising the funds.
After you build the center you need to look at a diving board for 12 hours, have 5 Sims at the pool at one time, admire the trophies and then spend 1 day hiding in the bathroom (I may have the order slightly off). After all this you should be at about 18%. Lastly, you need to talk to the Bunny out front for 8.5 hours.

To be Continued...

It's all Going Swimmingly Quest (Part 1)

The first step is to build the Swimming Center (to the right of the Town Hall)

You will get 5 days and 23 hours- you will be needing every second of it I am sure.

This takes $150,000 (Yikes!!) and 42 hours (Double Yikes!!!)

Right now I only have some $63,000 so my first plan of action is to plant and harvest onions.

I may very well break down and buy some currency using real money, we'll see how far I can get using traditional methods.

Toddler Quest Conclusion

Once you talk with the Statue you need to celebrate by listening to the stereo.

That's it!

A Glitch with the Toddler Quest

An error in my game  has occurred and I have no idea how to fix it and contacting EA has gotten me no where.

Two of my Sims were at work and another was getting advice from the statue, when all of a sudden I kept being redirected to the home screen. After the third time I turned off my iPod, hoping to reset everything back to normal. I forgot, however, to close the app (by pressing the Home Button twice) and I have had to restart the Statue task again and my two Sims were sent home early from work, but are still dressed for work.

If everything goes well, I should still be able to finish the Quest in time to get the reward.

If anyone else has had these problems and has been able to resolve them, or even just to know that I'm not alone; Please Let me Know!

Hopefully everything will get sorted sooner than later!

Toddlers Quest (Part 2)

After you finish building the pet store you need to adopt a new pet for your toddler. Thankfully there is a free one-star Greyhound.
You will need to buy a 'dollhouse' for your toddler (these are the houses about half-way through the Toddler section of the Children's Store).
Next, you need to make some coffee and then make some Rocky Road (which takes 12 hours).
After all this you will need to go to the park and visit the ducks, talk to a statue in the park, have a staring contest with the statue in the park and finally spend 24 hours having a heart-to-heart with the statue.
This should bring you up to 85% complete at this point.

If at ALL possible save your LPs.

During your usual 'Tutorial Quest' you will need to get a cat, which cost 6 LPs (for the cheapest one- the most expensive one is 80 LPs).

I don't know if you will be needing LPs to launch your baby into the Toddler stage.

I will update you as soon as I'm done in the park!

Toddlers Quest (Part 1)

This task looks like one of the hardest ones to accomplish in time. We shall see...

You get 4.5 days.

First, you need to watch a documentary, then a kids show, both on the T.V. and change your baby's diaper.
Here's where it gets hard. You have to build the Pet Shop, which cost $100,000 and takes 36 hours to complete construction. (I thought the bridge was bad!) It took me some 7 hours to get enough money to build it. However, I would save your LPs until you absolutely need to use them.
I like to wait until construction is down to 1h 59 min. to use a LP (you cut construction down two hours and only use one LP)

My pet shop still has about 30 hours on it.

One of the best and fastest ways to earn money is to get a garden patch for each of your Sims and place them all at one house, gather all the Sims at that house and garden. If you're going to be sleeping or unable to connect to the internet I suggest Onions or Beans. Otherwise have half do Peppers and the other half Carrots. I was able to make $4,000 in under an hour with 6 (or so) Sims. Also, remember that you can make $300 every hour just by checking your 'Starter House' every minute. Plus, your dog can't hurt.

Raiders of the Lost Artifacts (Conclusion)

Now you need to eat a snack and then rummage through the rubbish (kick over your rubbish bin and then spend 8.5 minutes cleaning it up).
Next, I had to plant onions and watch T.V. then at 76% it told me to do random tasks until I received the last thing to build the monument.
I found it when I took a shower for 1 minute, but it really could be anything. My suggestion is to try each thing for the shortest thing working your way through your house.
I planted some peppers, went to the bathroom, washed my hands and then took the shower, which earned me the hammer (I think) I needed.

Hope you are able to accomplish this quest in time! The reward really is worth it.

Raiders of the Lost Artifacts (Part 1)

This Challenge is different for every person, this my experience.
You get 23 hours.

The first task is to go to the monument closest to the bridge. It is brown, to the left of the bridge in the middle of a grassy spot.

The next thing is to 'read the big book of stuff', which takes 16 hours on a 3 star book case.

Mysterious Island - Conclusion

Once your bridge is finished and you 'visit' it, the Challenge is complete.

On to the Raiders of the Lost Artifacts Challenge!

Mysterious Island (Part 2)

After making the Croissants (you should now be at 90%), you are now ready to build your bridge.

It requires $20,000 (ouch!), 30 hours and a minimum of 8 Sims.

Keep in mind that you cannot build two things at once and once you start construction you cannot stop or pause it.

Baby Crib Comparison

I personally could not find any resources on which crib to buy to have a baby once I had finished the Love is in the Air Quest.
I have only bought two cribs and in no way consider myself an expert.

First, you can only add one Sim at a time. Meaning that if you're wishing to add an adult Sim and a baby do the adult first.

The yellow crib (6 LPs) requires 24 hours to make a baby. No additional fees.

The white crib ($6,000) requires '1 day and 3 LPs' to make a baby. I'm trusting there are no additional fees.

So, in other words: spend the money and save the LPs because despite the difference in price and currency you will not be saving yourself any time.

I'd like to try the 16 LPs crib - But I just cannot bring myself to spend that many LPs on something I'm only going to use one time.

Don't forget that once you get a baby and complete the Toddlers Quest (I have yet to get to it) you can place the crib in your 'Inventory' and use it again to create another baby for another happily married Sims couple!

Note: Your Sims MUST be married in order to have a baby.

Please share your crib experiences in the comments below!

The Mysterious Island Quest (Part 1- first 80%)

Now that you have completed the Beach Front Homes quest (which I will come back to) it's time to get down to some serious infrastructure.
You get 3 days to complete this Challenge and the first 80% is very easy and quick (I'm under the impression all your time is going to be spent building the bridge, which I estimate to take 24 hours.)
You will need to get a tea pot ($500) a telephone (which you should already have from a previous Quest, I recommend the expensive one), a computer (which you should already have) (I use the $1,500 2 star model) and a World Globe ($10,000)- yep $10,000! You need to start saving now.
*You will watch the news (4 minutes) call the construction company (about 10 minutes) watch a special on T.V. (about 15 minutes) call the construction company back, mail a letter (4 seconds), call the construction company again (15-ish minutes), use the computer (about 8.5 minutes) then make some croissants (18 hours), which is as far as I have gotten today.

*I may have the order a little out of place, but overall the first 80% should take only about an hour.

Happy building!

Love is in the Air Quest

So, now its time to start getting your Sims hitched!

This is a challenge which means that it is timed. Complete the challenge in time to unlock a Wedding Bundle which means that you will be able to dress your female Sims like brides. Very elegant!
Every hour that you spend not completing the challenge is two LPs (Lifestyle Points- the yellow diamonds to the right of the Simoleons) you will have to use to make up lost time. And there's no quick way to earn LPs!
You only get about 2 1/2- 3 days to complete this quest.

You can use any of your Sims to complete any of these tasks, with the exception of reaching Relationship Milestones between the two Sims that you wish to be married in the end.

The very first thing is to have a Sim take a 'Rich Lather' shower, 15 minutes.

Now it's time to start building your Sims' relationships.
Once you have a girl and guy Sim become 'Best Friends'(by selecting them and choosing an option that is green - your best bet is 'Be Nice', which takes 1 minute to do), the option 'Be Romantic' and 'Dance' (both Pink) should pop up. Do these actions until you reach 'Budding Romance' at which point you will be instructed to watch T.V. I think it's a movie which is 1 hour and 45 minutes long, on a 2 star T.V. I can't remember if you have to finish the movie. I don't think I did, but that may have only been a glitch.

All of this earns you loads of XPs!
You will be required at some point to buy a 3 star bed. The sooner the better!
Then you need to "Sleep through Alarm", which on a 3 star bed takes 9 hours, 11 hours on a 2 star bed. And there is no way to speed up this process!
Once you wake up you'll need to make yourself a cup of coffee. You do that by purchasing a coffee maker from the Home Goods Store. I recommend the cheaper of the two.
Now, it's time to 'WooHoo', 'Ask to Move in' and get 'Engaged'. In order to become ‘Engaged’ you MUST do all of these actions in order
NOTE: The more expensive the ring the more likely they will say yes. The only ring you will be able to choose at first is the Eternity Ring, which will cost 10 LPs.
Before you can get hitched however, you have to build the Park. This is where all your time is going to get dried up. It will take $2,500 to build and 8 hours to complete (if I remember right). Then you'll have to get 5 Sims to the park and spend 15 more minutes talking to ducks before you can finally marry your first set of Sims. I wasted the first half a day and was able to make the challenge with about 2 hours to spare, but I also wound up using quite a few LPs to finish in time.

If I left anything out or you have any questions please comment.
